SAINT NICOLAS Quarter – 15/19 June – Open-Air gigs –
Throughout 2016, Ireland will celebrate the 1916 “Easter Rising” to commemorate what can easily be regarded as the most pivotal moment in Irish history that led to the 1919 Irish war of independence and the 1922 Irish Free State. The Easter Rising of 1916 paved the way towards Irish independence and the restructuring of the nation, while liberating its people and reviving cultural and national identity.
It’s an incredibly important moment for the people of Ireland to share and a good opportunity for the people of La Rochelle to get involved will be when hundreds of Irish people will visit La Rochelle, in June 14th-20th, during the Euro 2016.

That’s why we, LE QUARTIER SAINT NICOLAS (Association of shopkeepers, restaurant owners and publicans), in La Rochelle, are organizing an “IRISH WEEK”, from June 15th to June 19th, in order to reserve our best welcome to all our Irish friends…and if you’re lucky enough to be joining them during the festivities, you’re in for an unforgettable experience!!!

If you feel like having a celtic spirit or just wish a journey to the soul of Ireland… you are more than welcome! All week long, the SAINT NICOLAS quarter will vibrate to the sound of Irish music and colours with many surprises in shops, various animations and a lively atmosphere.
Various open-air gigs will take place Place de la Fourche with bands such as CATALPA & WITH U2 NIGHT…

More info to come on our Facebook page.

See you soon,
Le Quartier Saint Nicolas
